Overview

Located in Downtown Detroit, Republic Tavern delivers a modern take on an old world tavern experience with an emphasis on nose-to-tail eating.

In 2015 Republic Tavern was awarded with Best New Restaurant and Best New Chef by Eater Magazine. Chef Sarah Welch lives by the classic Julia Child belief that as a chef “you get what is in season and you know what to do with it”. Each day at Republic we take this sentiment to heart. Working closely with local farmers allows our menu to ebb and flow with Michigan’s seasons. By partnering with local Michigan suppliers we identify the best ingredients available and use those ingredients as an inspiration for our constantly evolving menu. Our approach to drinks is taken with equal care featuring natural wines, craft beers, and premium whiskey options.
