Detroit Opera House Presents Mos Def
Embarco presents critically acclaimed MC Mos Def live with special guest Royce da 5’9. Since this time Mos Def has ventured outside of the hip hop world incorporating elements of blues, soul and rock into his Grammy nominated music. He has been named to multiple “Best MC” lists.

Bayou Detroit
The first Annual Bayou Detroit Cajun & Zydeco event will take place at the Majestic Theatres rooftop Alley Deck. This event kicks off with an open Cajun Jam session open to all (bring your instrument), followed by a dance lesson with dances that are core to the Cajun music scene Louisiana two-step, waltz, and Zydeco. Then Cajun-Zydeco band Creole du Nord
will play.

DIM Battles 2013
A live competition for artists to reinterpret their favorite (or most hated) car brands' logo in the medium of street art on a 6' x 8' board that we will supply. Competitors will have 7 hours to complete their work. There will be booths from vendors selling locally made goods and food trucks selling a variety of cuisine.

The Untitled Bottega Grand Opening
The opening gala will also preview the next part of the Untitled community, the Untitled Campus: an expanded workplace with dedicated outdoor performance, exhibition, and open studio space for long-term artists-in-residence. The opening will take place as part of the 3rd Annual Detroit Design Festival, a showcase of design and creative innovation across the city. Miss Saigon

Matvei Yankelevich
Matvei Yankelevich is the author of a poetry collection, Alpha Donut (United Artists Books), the novella-in-fragments Boris by the Sea (Octopus Books), and the translator of Today I Wrote Nothing: The Selected Writings of Daniil Kharms (Ardis/Overlook). His critical writing includes essays on conceptual poetry and on Russian-American poetry. He has taught at Columbia University School of the Arts, Colorado College, and the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College. Yankelevich is the Visiting Writer at Long Island University's MFA Program this fall. He is one of the founding editors of Ugly Duckling Presse, where, between various book projects and administrative duties, he continues to curate UDP's Eastern European Poets Series and co-edit 6×6 magazine.
